Who's in Charge at the DDC?

DDC Hard at Work Planning Water Shut Downs for West 13th Road

"...Schedule a Water Shut Down!"...."No...Cancel it!".... "Schedule a Water Shut Down!"...."No...Cancel it!".... "Schedule a Water Shut Down!"...."No...Cancel it!...."

Yesterday we published a post regarding the New York City Department of Design and Construction's (DDC) annoying (and inconvenient) habit or scheduling temporary water shut off advisories for West 13th Road and then summarily cancelling same.

Well they have done it again!

Yesterday, DDC authorized yet another water shut down for West 13th Road for today, Wednesday, February 24, 2016, whereupon the contractors dutifully posted the requisite written notification of such pending water shut off on all West 13th Road properties.

Needless to say, this morning the DDC, once again, has cancelled today's scheduled water shut off....no reason given!  This is the fourth such cancellation of a scheduled water shut off on West 13th Road since the beginning of February.

For individuals who leave their residence each day for work this might not prove to be a very big inconvenience but for those who remain at home to care for small children or elderly/infirm family members who have to prepare for such water disruptions (store potable water for drinking and sanitary purposes) this issue has surpassed "inconvenient" and entered the realm of  infuriating and does not speak well of DDC's management of this project.

Once again we will pass along DDC's continuance of their vexing habit of scheduling and summarily cancelling without any explanation such water disruptions to the Office of the Queens Borough President.
