THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT LATE MONDAY NIGHT. * LOCATIONS...LOW LYING COASTAL AREAS ALONG NEW YORK HARBOR...TIDALLY AFFECTED RIVERS IN NEW JERSEY...AND SOUTH SHORE BAYS OF NEW YORK CITY AND WESTERN LONG ISLAND. * TIDAL DEPARTURES...MOST LIKELY 2 1/2 TO 3 FT SURGE ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL TIDE. A LOW PROBABILITY OF 3 1/2 FT SURGE ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL TIDE. * TIMING...DURING THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE BETWEEN 1 AM AND 4 AM LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. * BEACH EROSION IMPACTS...SIGNIFICANT BEACH EROSION AND WASHOVERS ALONG OCEAN FACING BARRIER BEACHES OF LONG ISLAND DUE TO 10 TO 15 FT WAVES AND HIGH STORM TIDE. A FEW EXPOSED WATER FRONT STRUCTURES MAY BE DAMAGED. * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING OF VULNERABLE SHORE ROADS AND/OR BASEMENTS DUE TO HEIGHT OF STORM TIDE AND/OR WAVE ACTION.
