At 11:50 am earlier this morning, workers from the N.Y.C. Parks Department arrived at the end of West 12th Road with chain saws and a large wood chipper in order to remove a tree which had been uprooted and damaged during Super Storm Sandy.
At 12:25 pm, only thirty-five minutes later, the damaged tree is gone, the area raked and all the workers and their equipment and vehicles are gone!
The ponded water on the street is the remnant of last night's street tidal flooding.
