Held at Roma View catering hall in Howard Beach, the brunch honored Zarou’s 25 year service to the Broad Channel community as pastor of the church.
The original date for the celebration was set for November of last year, however Hurricane Sandy intervened.
As one attendee remarked, “Hurricane Sandy could only slow this down; it couldn’t stop it.”
Reverend Zarou was honored with several heartfelt speeches and gifts. Among those were a hand designed collaborative book of memories and a painting done by a local artist of the church as it looked before the storm.
A special detail in the foreground is the announcement board which shows the times of services and lists Rev. Andrea Zarou as pastor.
