At this time it appears that approaching nor'easter will arrive in our area late Friday evening with accompanying significant wind and snow and continue into Saturday.
Coastal flooding should be closely monitored prior to, during, and subsequent to Saturday morning's 7:37 am high tide. Forecasted 25 mph N/E winds gusting at times to 45 mph will serve to exacerbate the normal tidal height of 6 ' with upwards of a 2 foot tidal height departure. Additionally, persistent coastal winds may cause tidal flooding to recede very slowly. Nothing to go crazy about, after all we all know the drill. Nevertheless I strongly urge all residents to remove their personal vehicles from side street and other area parking that are known to be prone to tidal flooding well in advance of Saturday morning's 7:30 am high tide.
As far as snowfall is concerned, the NYC metro area will be in the zone where enough snow will fall to shovel and plow with blizzard conditions possible in some areas. Localized snowfall in oir area may range from 6 inches to upwards of 1 foot.
More updates as data becomes available.
