EMERGENCY LANE RESTRICTIONS WEST 12TH ROAD

COMMUNITY ADVISORY NOTICE

BROAD CHANNEL RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
PROJECT # HWQ1182A

October 7, 2015

IMPORTANT

EMERGENCY LANE RESTRICTIONS
WEST 12TH ROAD

The NYC Department of Design and Construction is managing the construction project in Broad Channel on West 11th, 12th and 13th Roads from Cross Bay Boulevard to Jamaica Bay.

In order to allow 24-hours access for emergency vehicles during the installation of a new storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main, an emergency lane was paved on the south side of West 12th Road from Cross Bay Boulevard to Jamaica Bay.

In adherence to NYC-DOT OCMC traffic stipulations, the Emergency Lane is meant for deliveries and emergency vehicles only.  It should not be used as a pedestrian walkway or play area.  The emergency lane should be kept clear at all times.  The designated pedestrian walkway is now on the north side of West 12th Road.

Parking is not permitted in the emergency lane on the south side of the street.  This parking restriction is in effect (7) days a week.  Parking on the north side is permitted where space allows, outside of work hours.  Work hours are defined, as per NYC-DOT OCMC permits, as 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

In order to ensure everyone's safety, please adhere to the above restrictions.

In an effort to keep the community informed, identify and resolve project related issues that may arise during construction the DDC has assigned Ms. Fern Weinreich, as gthe Community Construction Liaison (CCL).  Please contact Ms. Weinreich at 646-300-4351 or 5165-361-8822 if you have any questions.
