Rockaway Boardwalk Reconstruction Project
Parks Department Accountability
The boardwalk is not only a part of our neighborhood's identity, it's also a vital protective measure against future storms like Sandy. That's why I was outraged when the city requested an additional $67 million for growing cost overruns and to keep the boardwalk reconstruction project on schedule. I have called on the Parks Department to explain why this money is needed and exactly how it's all being used. Our families deserve to have the best possible protection while knowing their hard-earned tax dollars are being well-spent.
Police NYPD Officer Law Enforcement

Keeping Our Police Officers Safe
I was proud to work with my colleagues to include $60 million in the recently passed state budget to upgrade police safety equipment like bulletproof vests and patrol car windows. Sadly, these funds are still sitting in the state Division of Budget and are not getting to the departments that need them most. I've written to Governor Cuomo urging him to release this money immediately. The men and women of the NYPD put their lives on the line to protect our families and we must provide them the tools they need to do their job and remain safe.

Evacuation Route Signs Updated!
After making a request a few months ago, I'm pleased to announce that, with the help of NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM), all coastal evacuation route signs throughout southern Queens and Rockaway have now been updated. I'd like to thank NYCEM Commissioner Joe Esposito for his tireless efforts to make this change and for working to keep our families safe and prepared.
