Broad Channel NY Rising Committee is on track to seeing its projects completed

From:  The Rockaway Times

The Broad Channel NY Rising Committee is on track to seeing its projects completed as well, according to the group’s chair, Dan Mundy.
Broad Channel is eligible for up to $6.06 million in state funds. The committee allocated that money to a number of what Mundy called “tangible” projects, including resiliency improvements to the American Legion Hall and the Broad Channel Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, as well as providing sewer and water connections to homes along Lanark Road.
“We wanted to see stuff get done,” Mundy said. “We didn’t want to put the money toward a study that’s going to sit on a shelf for 30 years that no one’s going to listen to anyway.”
The Broad Channel committee met this past Monday, leaving its members enthusiastic and optimistic, Mundy said.
“They told us the money is in place and the projects are good to go,” he said. “At any moment you get worried something could come hit you, but so far so good.”
