Although no Coastal Flood Advisory was in effect at the time, the height of yesterday morning's (Thur. - Sept. 11th) 10:44 am high tide was close to 8 feet, running significantly higher than the projected astronomical height of 6.8 feet, at the bay end of W12thRd.
The new bulkhead and street raising project's field staff, located next door at 59 West 12th Road, are gaining some real, first hand, experience with the decades old problem of routine and often severe tidal street flooding residents of Broad Channel have had to deal with.
