The 6.2 foot high tide at 12:30 pm this afternoon rolled halfway up W12th and managed to rise over the sidewalks and up against building foundations on homes towards the end of the street.
Because of the reconfiguration of the bay end of the block which has been leveled and cleared of all concrete debris and other debris which previously served to mitigate the incoming tidal waters routine tidal street flooding on the block, even with less than significant high tides, has been markedly higher - especially at the bay end of the street.
The contractors are continually amazed that the safety barrier at the end of W12th Road is continually upended and floated away during periods of tidal street flooding even though weighted down by several heavy, concrete filled, buckets. To their credit, as soon as the water recedes, the barrier is put back up.
Ain't no damn strong enough.........
