True Bipartisanship: Ulrich Endorses Goldfeder

By Miriam Rosenberg
In a move which defines true bipartisanship – and is emblematic of how unifiedRockaway elected officials have become – Democratic Assemblyman Phillip Goldfeder has received the endorsement of Republican City Councilman Eric Ulrich.
At a fundraiser for Goldfeder on Tuesday night Ulrich threw his backing behind the Assemblyman, according to reports.
It is also reported that the GOP will ask for a waiver to include Goldfeder on itsballot line.
“I welcome the support and endorsement of each group that feels I am doing a good job on behalf of the community, including Councilman Ulrich," Goldfeder said in an email to The Wave on Thursday.
As to how any GOP endorsement affects him he said, "I am a Democrat and this endorsement does not change that. I will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of every family I represent and continue to deliver, especially for those still recovering from Sandy. The bipartisan support for my campaign is a testament to my hard work and dedication to the people I represent."
The primary for state and local officials is September 9 and the general election is November 4.
