The American Legion Auxiliary of Broad Channel’s Post 1404 was recently presented with eight certificates of appreciation and two plaques at the Queens County A.L.A. Convention luncheon.
The awards, according to BC Auxiliary President Janet O’Hare, were based on community service, children and youth involvement, membership, support of the Empire Girls State program, their work with the veterans at the St. Albans Home, including their Christmas party and “our outstanding efforts in the fight against cancer.”
The awards were given by the American Legion Auxiliary’s Department of New York.
O’Hare wanted to “thank our Broad Channel community for supporting us at our brunches and other fundraising activities.”
