Woodhaven Blvd. SBS Design Workshop
Join the New York City Department of Transportation and MTA Bus on June 25, 2014 for an interactive design workshop where participants can get creative and share design ideas for implementing Select Bus Service (SBS) on Woodhaven and Cross Bay Boulevard. The goal of this project is to work with local residents and community groups to alleviate traffic congestion, improve bus service and address traffic and safety concerns along the corridor. Breezy Point Vet Honored at Citifield
(June 14, 2014) Councilman Eric Ulrich, Chair of the City Council Veterans Committee, was proud to join the New York Mets in honoring Breezy Point resident Thomas Sullivan during Saturday's game. Sullivan is an Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve who served two tours in Iraq. He received a standing ovation and was presented with an American Flag by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords immediately following the third inning.

Ulrich Urges DOT to Create Safe Route to School in Lindenwood
Councilman Ulrich, Assemblyman Goldfeder and State Senator Addabbo are calling on the Department of Transportation (DOT) to install speed bumps, upgraded high visibility crosswalks and a new traffic signal or additional stop signs outside P.S. 232Q in Howard Beach. DOT has failed to address dangerous traffic conditions at several key intersections there, leaving local residents concerned that if traffic safety improvements are not made soon, a child, parent or senior citizen may be the victim of a serious accident.

Woodhaven Student Selected to Serve As Council Member For A Day!

June 11, 2014: Ingrid Karmazinas, an 8th grade student from St. Thomas the Apostle School in Woodhaven, recently participated in the Council Member For A Day Initiative. Ingrid received an in-depth look at the inner workings of City Hall and had the opportunity to experience the legislative process firsthand with other young people from across the borough.
