"A Place to call home!" - We think not.

The above video, posted to YouTube on June 24th, 2014, is part of the City's ongoing effort to host the Democratic National Convention in 2016.

According to the video, New York City is not unlike the great City of Oz....

"A place to call home..."

"A destination worth the trip..."

"5 Boroughs, one city..."

"Like nowhere else on earth..."

The video was part of a presentation to the DNC Technical Committee, highlighting the City's belief that the [Yellow Brick] Road to the White House goes through the five boroughs.

I watched the video no less than 3 times in the hopes that perhaps it would mention the citys' shore areas with an accompanying narrative about the strength and resiliency of those residents in Sandy ravaged communities and New York City's integral role in the terrific come back those communities have made since Super Storm Sandy.

Nothing!

Then I realized that with hundreds of residents still displaced and growing years older as they still await the continually promised financial and other assistance to rebuild their lives, perhaps our good Mayor felt that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) might find "the [Yellow Brick] Road to the White House" somewhat difficult t navigate with the never ending impotent bureaucracy of its Build It Back Program!I

So much for "A place to call home!"
