Happy Pi Day!

I bet you all thought I forgot!

What is Pi you say?

Pi, an irrational number whose digits go on forever in a seemingly random sequence (3.14159.......), is the most recognized mathematical constant in the world.

Pi is a name given to the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its' diameter.  It doesn't matter how big or small the circle is, Pi remains the same.

Scholars often consider Pi the most important and intriguing number in all of mathematics!

Not being a scholar the only relevant thing I remember about Pi  from my youthful and misspent days in math class, many moons ago, is that back in 1966 Alfred Hitchcock managed to work Pi into a secret code in his movie Torn Curtain with Paul Newman and Julie Andrews.

Didn't really understand it back in 1966 and still don't today.

Happy Pi Day!
