NWS Forecast for our area at 4:00 pm


The NWS is starting to extend their accumulation projections as I believe they are still not sure just how deeply this storm will intensify this evening.  

Their latest forecast for our specific area shows a projected range of 7 to 15 inches of snow possible and we are already rapidly approaching the 7" mark.

The NWS Storm Total forecast computer model for our general area presenlty shows total snow accumulations of 10 to 15 inches.

NWS Forecast for Arverne at 3:351 pm

  • Late AfternoonSnow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 21. Wind chill values as low as -2. Blustery, with a north wind around 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
  • TonightSnow with widespread blowing snow before 3am, then widespread blowing snow and a chance of snow after 3am. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 11. Wind chill values as low as -8. Windy, with a north wind 23 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
