Mayor Bill de Blasio Updates New Yorkers on Winter Storm

At 6:50 p.m., speaking from the NYC Office of Emergency Management Situation Room,  
Mayor Bill de Blasio just announced that...

Storm has intensified and we are now expecting upwards of 14 inches of snow....

Combination of winds gusting to 35 mph and blowing snow, driving conditions will be very dangerous....

Snow will continue until about 3-4 am tomorrow morning....

Extremely cold/dangerous  wind chills well below zero....

Please keep streets clear for DSNY snow removal operations.....

Alternate side parking regulations suspended today and tomorrow (metered parking  
remains in effect)....

Trash and recycling collections suspended today and tomorrow...

Staten Island Ferry operating on a reduced schedule....

Please look out for your neighbors, especially elderly and sick, who may be in need....

At this time (7:00 pm) schools will be open tomorrow however, we will look at this later and advise you of any change.
