Community Board #14 Meeting Tuesday, 1/14/2014



Want to know what’s going on in the community? The next Community Board 14 meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14th and many hot topics will be discussed, from the boardwalk to a proposal for Peninsula Hospital.
Tuesday’s meeting will take place at the Bayswater Jewish Center at 2355 Healy Avenue starting at 7:15 p.m. Kathryn Mallon, the program director for NYC Build it Back, will give an informational presentation on the program. The nomination committee will discuss the election of board officers.
The Health Committee will discuss a proposal by the Child Center of New York to open and operate a substance abuse treatment center at 1603 Central Avenue. They will also discuss a proposal by IMPROV11 to open a residential/ transitional housing facility for veterans, the elderly and disabled at the old Peninsula Hospital site at Beach 51st Street and Beach Channel Drive. Lastly, a proposal by the Lutheran Church to open a temporary Sandy Recovery Center on the city owned, vacant lot located between Beach 26th and 27th Streets will be up for discussion.
Finally, the Parks Department will make a presentation on the final plans for the boardwalk and adjacent areas
