Chantal is still a fast moving tropical storm with a forward movement of 28 mph with sustained winds of 45 mph gusting to 55 mph. Central Pressure is 1011 mb or 29.85 inches.
This storm is expected to slow its forward movement later today and a turn toward the northwest is expected on Thursday followed by a turn toward the north-northwest on Thursday night.
All forecast models now indicate that even if Chantal remains a tropical storm,
this storm will not track up the east coast to become a threat
to our area here in Broad Channel.
