Chantal is a fast moving tropical storm with a forward movement of some 29 mph with sustained winds of 60 mph. Central Pressure is 1006 mb or 29.71 inches.
If she maintains the projected track above, Chantal may impact the coastal areas of Florida by Saturday.
Chantal's tropical force winds presently extend some 90 miles from the storm's center at this time. (As a matter of reference, Sandy's winds extended some 800 miles from her center.)
It is beginning to look like Chantal will move inland across our southern coast but there is still the chance that she could veer further north and track up along the east coast.
Should Chantal maintain her present forward motion and track up the east coast she would reach our area early to mid next week, well in advance of the next full moon on July 23rd.
We will update you again this evening shortly after 5pm.
