For Immediate Release: June 25, 2013
(Queens , NY ) To
meet more of his constituents without scheduled appointments and to hear about
the issues that concern them, NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., will hold mobile
office hours on Thursday, July 11, Queens Library at
Broad Channel, 16-26 Cross Bay
Blvd.; 718-318-4943; Carol Scheper, Community Library Manager.
Come in to
talk to Senator Addabbo between 5:30 PM – 7 PM . He serves on
the NYS Senate Select Committee on Libraries.
Addabbo notes, “Many of my constituents might be unable to visit
my district offices during the day Monday through Friday. The time I am
spending at mobile office hours in the evening around the district gives them
an opportunity to see me in their own neighborhoods without making an
appointment, so I may personally address their concerns.
I will also be
speaking about how important library funding is from the city and the state in
restoring programs and services to local libraries, like the recently passed
NYC Budget that will keep local libraries open at least five days a week. And,
I’ve worked with my colleagues to restore NYS capital funding for vital
building projects like Woodhaven Library’s interior renovations to its Carnegie
building (Phase 1) that began in March; Richmond Hill Library’s renovation set
for later this year; the Sandy-devastated Rockaway libraries now under
reconstruction and offering temporary libraries at Arverne, Peninsula in
Rockaway Beach, and Seaside in Rockaway Park" (set to reopen this summer).
For more details, call Addabbo’s district
offices in Howard Beach at 718-738-1111; in Middle Village at 718-497-1630; or in
Rockaway at 718-318-0702.
