At 7:02 a.m. this morning, the vernal equinox occurred and a new Spring season began.
It is now some 142 days since our community was devastated by Sandy's storm surge and, although we are all still struggling, the signs of our towns resurgence are evident all around us.
Our streets are cleaner...houses have or are being repaired...families are returning to live Broad Channel...children are going to school...local stores are reopening!
We have a lot to be thankful for during this new spring 2013 spring season.
Just as the end of a long cold winter makes the arrival of spring so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, Broad Channel's returning prosperity would be much less appreciated.
