Friday January 7th Morning High Tide

As we all awaited the snowstorm that never appeared, the tide made its way up West 12th Road this past Frday morning.
Twenty minutes before the above photo was taken, a sanitation truck made its way up and down the block spreading salt!  Our neighbor, Liz Mala, then spent 30 minutes walking in the frigid water in her boots with an ice spade, breaking up the ice dams at the end of the block, to make sure the tide could go out!

    Boy, do I wish I took a picture of the sanitation truck that was salting the high tide.
