We’re New Yorkers; we’re restless; we care deeply about our neighborhoods; and sometimes, we know we need resources a City agency or nonprofit can't provide. That’s where the Citizens Committee steps in, to encourage innovative, truly home-grown efforts to make our neighborhoods a better place. I’m excited to host an opportunity to find out how to apply for a grant!   DATE: Wednesday December 12th TIME: 6:00 PM LOCATION: Rockaway District office   Spreading Holiday Cheer   Thanksgiving is a great time for family and friends. It is also a great time to give back. I am grateful for the chance to represent this beautiful district and to have the opportunity to give help to our local families with the NYPD 101st Precinct. Thank you to Western Beef Supermarket for their generosity in donating turkeys!!   I hope everyone has a great holiday season!     November Small Business of the Month   The Ladies of Business Rockaway Beach (LBRB) were selected as my November 'Small Business of the Month'. LBRB have shown there dedication and commitment to our community by serving as a platform for local female entrepreneurs. I am grateful to have an organization like this in our district!     Last day to drop off toys is Monday December 2nd.           Upcoming Events   Naloxone Training    My office, in conjunction with the state Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, will host three FREE training sessions in the 23rd District to train people how to recognize, respond to and reverse an opioid overdose by using the lifesaving medicine naloxone.
