URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service New York NY 336 PM EST Sat Nov 18 2017 The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 6 PM EST Sunday. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph, becoming west to northwest on Sunday. * TIMING...Late tonight into Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Use extra caution.
