Many people often confuse the Memorial Day and Veterans Day holidays in the mistaken belief that they are set aside as holidays for the same reason. Although both these holidays acknowledge and honor our veterans there does exist a real difference between the two.

Our Memorial Day holiday, which is celebrated on the last Monday of each May. is a  solemn event set aside to remember and pay respect to all the men and women who died in service to our country in times of armed conflict.

Veterans Day, which is celebrated every November 11th, is a much more cheerful holiday intended to allow all of us to acknowledge, thank and celebrate all those men and women who have donned a uniform and honorably and unselfishly served our nation at any time - during peace or war.

In keeping with the spirit and intent of this Veterans Day holiday, The Broad Channel VFW Prince-Wynn Post #260 will be hosting a party this Saturday evening, November 11th, to acknowledge, honor and support all our veterans.with live entertainment and refreshment on hand for all to enjoy.  

Doors open at 7 pm and the music starts rocking an hour later at 8 pm with...
