THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHERN
CONNECTICUT...NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY AND SOUTHEAST NEW YORK.
STRONG EASTERLY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO
MONDAY NIGHT AS AN INTENSIFYING STORM MOVES UP THE COAST. THE
STORM COULD ALSO PRODUCE MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING IF THE HIGHEST
SURGE COINCIDES WITH THE HIGHER OF THE DAILY ASTRONOMICAL HIGH
TIDES MONDAY MORNING OR TUESDAY MORNING. THE GREATER POTENTIAL FOR
THESE IMPACTS AT THIS TIME APPEARS TO BE ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE
BACK BAYS OF LONG ISLAND...JAMAICA BAY...PECONIC BAY...AND THE
SHORELINES OF LOWER NEW YORK BAY.
Tucked away on the west side of the small town of Broad Channel in the middle of Jamiaca Bay is a narrow, dead end, street that goes by the name of West 12th Road. Those of us who live there know that the nice part about living in a small town is that when you are not quite sure what is going on, someone else always does! [Peter J. Mahon West 12th Road, Broad Channel]
