The ice dam at the end of West 12th Road is no more!

The ice dam at the end of West 12th Road is no more!

Absent any corrective actions by the Department of Sanitation or the Department of Environmental Protection, earlier today the significant ice accumulation on the street as well as the "ice dam" at the bay end of the block were cleared thanks to the assistance of contractors working on the new bulkheads.  Aided by an excavator, the contractors cleaned up the street and repositioned the snow pack at the bay end to allow a outflow for any ponded water on the south side of the street.

After addressing the issue on West 12th Road, the contractor was heading to West 11th and 13th Roads to address any ice accumulations on those streets.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Eugene from Assemblyman Goldfeder's Office as well as Ms. Fern Weinreich, our Community Construction Coordinator, for their efforts in assisting in clearing this problem up and liaising with the Department of Sanitation to avoid similar issues in the future.
