THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A WINTER 
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR STRONG WINDS...SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH 
IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM SATURDAY TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY. 
 
* LOCATIONS...NEW YORK CITY...NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...THE LOWER 
HUDSON VALLEY...SOUTHWESTERN CONNECTICUT AND NASSAU COUNTY. 
 
* HAZARD TYPES...STRONG WINDS...SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WITH NEAR 
BLIZZARD CONDITIONS POSSIBLE. 
 
* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 7 INCHES...WITH HIGHEST 
SNOW AMOUNTS EAST AND NORTHEAST OF NEW YORK CITY. 
 
* WINDS...WEST 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH. 
 
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER 20S. 
 
* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF MILE...OR LESS...AT 
TIMES. 
 
* TIMING...LIGHT SNOW DEVELOPS SATURDAY AFTERNOON...BECOMING HEAVY 
AT TIMES SATURDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING... BEFORE 
TAPERING OFF BY EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON. CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND 
DRIFTING SNOW...WITH NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS...IS POSSIBLE 
SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING AS WINDS INCREASE. 
 
* IMPACTS...DANGEROUS TRAVEL DUE TO SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WITH 
NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS POSSIBLE. STRONG WINDS MAY DOWN POWER 
LINES AND TREE LIMBS.
