Alert: | ...FLASH FREEZE FORECAST THROUGH THIS EVENING...
FREEZING RAIN...MIXED WITH SLEET WILL ACCUMULATE FROM AROUND 1/4 TO 1/3 INCH THROUGH 3 PM ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA AS TEMPERATURES PLUMMET THROUGH THE 20S. THIS WINTRY MIX WILL CHANGE BACK TO ALL SNOW BEFORE ENDING THIS EVENING. THE EARLIER SNOW COMBINED WITH RAIN...FREEZING RAIN...AND SLEET RESULTED IN SLUSHY ROADS ACROSS METRO NEW JERSEY...NEW YORK CITY AND LONG ISLAND. AS A RESULT...ALL ROADS THAT HAVE STANDING WATER OR SLUSH WILL QUICKLY BECOME ICY...MAKING TRAVEL TREACHEROUS. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO DRIVE SAFELY AND TO USE EXTRA CAUTION WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH THIS EVENING. |
