Dear Neighbor,
This week I was officially sworn in for my 3rd term as your Assemblyman for the 23rd District in Southern Queens and Rockaway.

We have faced so many challenges and fought side by side to make our communities stronger. Now, with the Assembly back in session, I look forward to all the work we have left to do. The best is yet to come!

Stay Strong,

Support the NYPD
The tragic murders of two brave NYPD officers have touched each and every one of us. During this difficult time, I was proud to partner with civic associations, community groups and hundreds of volunteers to hang blue ribbons across our communities. I encourage everyone to join me in hanging blue ribbons at home and in the community to show our love and support for the brave men and women who put themselves on the line to keep us safe.
Helping Seniors Recycle
On January 1st, it became illegal in New York State to throw away TVs, computers, and all electronics with your regular trash. The Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has created the e-cycleNYC collection program to help families follow the new law, however, seniors and people with disabilities living in single family homes have been left out. I've urged DSNY to immediately make an exception for families who can't take their items to collection sites because of mobility issues. This change will ease the burden of following the new law and make recycling easier for every Queens family.
Evacuation Route Signs
Improving Evacuation Routes
I'm pleased to announce that the city has agreed to replace outdated and confusing emergency evacuation route signage throughout southern Queens and Rockaway. The new signs, which will be installed before the next hurricane season, will direct motorists to John Adams High School in Ozone Park, the correct evacuation center for our communities. A big thanks to Commissioner Joe Esposito at the NYC Office of Emergency Management for helping make his happen and for all his amazing work!
