Community Construction Liaison, Ms. Fern Weinreich, has advised that the weekly construction bulletin detailing next week's bulkhead work on W12th Road will be published Monday, October 13th.
Apparently the contractors finally came to the conclusion that no matter how many cement filled buckets they placed on the railraod tie that served as the base for the security screen at the end of W12thRd, the screen would still be upended and have to be set back in place after any significant tidal flooding.
So....they removed the old railroad tie and....
...replaced it with a concrete barrier which will not have to be reset after each period of significant tidal flooding and set about affixing the requisite framing, security netting,
construction lights, etc.
And voila!....a new end of street security barrier that won't be floating all over the place!
Prior to the end of the work day, the contractors also used a boat to finish installation and shore anchoring of the turbidity barrier at the end of W12thRd.
Note: Turbidity Barriers were also installed at the end of W11th and W13th Roads as well.
