Storm's Status: "Gonzalo" has recently intensified into a Cat. 2 Hurricane and is expected to track N and then NE back out into open seas later this week.
Gonzalo is still some 1000+ miles SE of our area here in Broad Channel so we
will have to wait and see how the storm strengthens and ultimately tracks to ascertain if this system will pose a threat to our coastal area but long range computer models continue to indicate Gonzalo will track away from the North American coast passing our area more than 600 miles off our coast .
