CM Ulrich Urges Cuomo to Fund Permanent Rockaway Ferry Service with NYS Budget Surplus

New York, NY - Council Member Eric Ulrich (R-Queens) penned a letter to Governor Andrew Cuomo today urging the Governor to fund permanent Rockaway Ferry service with a portion of New York's $4.2 billion budget FY2014 surplus. The administration is currently reviewing options on how to allocate these dollars, which came as a result of recent financial settlements with banks and insurance companies.

"The ferry is a vital lifeline for Rockaway communities and we must explore all funding options to extend permanent service - city, state, and federal," said Council Member Eric Ulrich. "I hope the Governor will support this invaluable community asset and acknowledge the real benefits it provides for local residents and small businesses."
