For the past 16 months Kevin Boyle has been the eyes and ears of Rockaway. His weekly banter and tongue-in-cheek humor kept us laughing, even when times were tough. His investigative reporting, his nose for news, his insistence for the truth, and his in your face style has not only kept us informed about the issues surrounding our past, present and future, but has spurred us all into action. We have taken to the streets over flood insurance, flood maps, FEMA, Build it Back, the Army Corps, the beach, the boardwalk and a myriad of issues that have arisen since Sandy. He did not stop until our representatives in Congress, NYS and NYC listened, and even more than that, they acted. Kevin came in with the wind after Sandy and was Rockaway’s greatest cheerleader. And unfortunately, he has decided to leave The Wave for new horizons. Kevin has left us with the tools we need to take the fight to the next level. He has left us with the information we need to help our community grow. We are all saddened to see him go and will miss him. We know that whatever he chooses to do he will do it with his heart and soul, energy and professionalism. Good luck, Kevin, and thank you.
