Next week's total lunar eclipse (aka: "Blood Moon") will be visible during the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 15, 2014 weather permitting.
Viewing Timetable
1:58 a.m.: the partial phase of the eclipse will begin as the Earth's dark shadow, called the umbra, starts to slowly creep over the full moon.
3:06 a.m.: the eclipse will reach totality, but sunlight bent by the earth's atmosphere will produce a coppery (reddish) glow on the moon.
3:46 a.m.: the Earth and moon will almost be in exactly alignment and the light of the moon will appear at its dimmest.
4:24 a.m.: "Totality" ends and the moon will become brighter.
5:33 a.m.: Then eclipse ends.
