* LOCATIONS...THE COASTLINES OF NEW YORK HARBOR...THE GREAT
SOUTH BAY...THE ATLANTIC OCEAN...AND THE WESTERN LONG ISLAND
SOUND.
* TIDAL DEPARTURES...AROUND 1 1/2 TO 2 FEET ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL
TIDES.
* BEACH EROSION...MINOR BEACH EROSION IS POSSIBLE ALONG THE
OCEANFRONT.
* TIMING...WIDESPREAD MINOR FLOODING DURING THE TIMES OF HIGH
TIDE TONIGHT. SOME ISOLATED SPOTS IN THE SOUTH SHORE BAYS
COULD REACH MODERATE FLOODING BENCHMARKS DURING HIGH TIDE.
FOR DAYTIME THURSDAY HIGH TIDE CYCLES...IN THE LATE MORNING
TO EARLY AFTERNOON...SOME ISOLATED MINOR COASTAL FLOODING
WILL BE POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY FOR THE SOUTH SHORE BAYS.

...THE FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT FOR URBAN
AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS IN KINGS (BROOKLYN)...QUEENS...NASSAU...NEW
YORK (MANHATTAN)...BRONX AND RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND) COUNTIES...
AT 704 PM EDT MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WAS FALLING OVER THE WARNED
AREA. RAINFALL RATES OF 3/4 TO 1 INCH PER HOUR ARE OCCURRING IN
AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED BETWEEN 1 1/2 TO 2 1/2 INCHES OF
RAIN. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE PONDING OF
WATER IN URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS
OTHER POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN AREAS...
HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER POOR DRAINAGE
AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
TO REPORT FLOODING...HAVE THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY RELAY
YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE.
