UPDATE #2
The models are now starting to forecast two separate storm systems that will impact our area this weekend.
The first system will approach us from the south as it runs out into the Atlantic and then up along the coast possibly bringing with it moderate accumulating snowfall on Saturday depending on how close to the coast the system is.
The second system will approach us from the mid-west on Sunday also bringing with it moderate accumulating snowfall.
With multiple storm systems the atmosphere may not have the enough available energy to allow Sunday's storm to become a major weather event until it has passed our area well out to sea.
If this happens, we will simply experience two weaker snow storms over the weekend rather than one very strong system.
On the other hand, if any, or both, of these storms intensify much greater than projected by current models, as has been the trend thus far this season, it could be an entirely different forecast.
More definitive data and tracking models will be available over the next 24 hours and we will keep you advised.
