Tuesday Snowstorm Advisory 1


WHAT TO EXPECT

SNOW

Snow flurries starting late this evening and continuing overnight with little or no accumulation with an overnight low of 26 F and winds 5-10 mph.

 Snow will intensify tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and continue through the afternoon with an expected 2-4 inch accumulation with temperatures hovering around freezing and winds 10-15 mph.

The NYC Department of Sanitation will issue a "snow alert" at 4 am Tuesday morning and deploy plows/sanders in anticipation of this storm at that time.

TIDAL STREET FLOODING

[Note: Although we are at a full moon astronomical heights of high tides are not significant and, as this is not a coastal ocean storm, high tides will not be accompanied by any significant storm surge.]  

Tuesday Morning High Tide:  8:01 am (5.2 feet) - no flooding anticipated at this time
Tuesday Evening High Tide: 8:28 pm (4.4 feet) - no flooding anticipated at this time

TANGENTIAL ISSUES

Damaging Winds:  not anticipated
Dangerous Icing:  not anticipated
Power Outages:  not anticipated
Cell Phone Disruption:  not anticipated
Public Transportation Disruption:  not anticipated
Flight Delays (JFK/LAG):  minor arrival/departure delays possible
Storm Surge:  not anticipated (this is not a coastal storm)
Highway Disruption:  not anticipated
