Tropical Storm Andrea - Update #4

Category:  Tropical Storm
Location: 1037 miles SE of Broad Channel
Pressure:  997 mb
Wind Speed:  60 mph
Movement:  NE at 15 mph

At this time no Watches or Warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service for our area

What Can We Expect?
(Friday through Saturday)

Precipitation:  2 to 4 inches of rain
Winds:  ENE at 9 mph with higher gusts
Tidal Street Flooding?:  minor street flooding at high tide Friday evening on W12thRd
Storm Surge?:  None forecast at this time
Power Outage?:  Not anticipated
Public Transportation Disruption?:  Subway and Bus service should not be affected
Cell Service Disruption?:  Not anticipated


Presently it is anticipated that Andrea will be downgraded to a post-tropical storm prior to impacting the Broad Channel area tomorrow, however, it will merge with another front approaching from the west (which will bring us precipitation tonight) resulting in significant rainfall accumulation.  2-4 inches of rain is a lot of water so residents with houses under construction should ensure all open areas are covered securely to avoid water penetration and interior damage.
