Tropical Storm Andrea - Update #3

STATUS
(AS OF 9AM 6/6/2013)

Sustained Winds:  60 mph
Wind Gust:  70 mph
Forward motion:  NNE at 14 mph

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT?

Andrea will traverse northern Florida and Georgia later today and is expected to increase her forward speed as she turns further northeast and continues up the coast.

A weak frontal system will approach our area from the west later today bringing us some precipitation tonight and tomorrow.

By Friday evening when Andrea nears our area, she will have been downgraded to a post-tropical system
but will join the above mentioned frontal system resulting in heavy soaking rains (2-4") through Saturday morning.

Andrea's expected post-tropical status, rapid forward motion and her projected track should keep sustained high  winds far enough offshore to obviate any serious coastal flooding/storm surge concerns.

Our main concern (at this time) will be the heavy soaking rains which could exceed 3" in accumulation.

Updates to follow.
