Goodbye "Katia" - Hello "Maria"?

The jet stream will steer Hurricane Katia away from our coast out into the North Atlantic causing us little more than a "high surf advisory" for our area through tomorrow evening.

Unfortunately, as Katia begins pulling away from us, Tropical Depression 14 has formed in the Central Atlantic and is expected to become a Tropical Storm later today and reach Hurricane strength by next  Monday with a north-west track heading for the U.S. mainland. Once this depression reaches Tropical Storm status laer today it will be named ."Maria."

Over the next several days, the computer models will start coming together regarding the long range track of "Maria" so all we can do for now is watch it closely.
