Tucked away on the west side of the small town of Broad Channel in the middle of Jamiaca Bay is a narrow, dead end, street that goes by the name of West 12th Road. Those of us who live there know that the nice part about living in a small town is that when you are not quite sure what is going on, someone else always does! [Peter J. Flood Mitigation Project Update
The N.Y.C. Department of Design and Construction (DDC) and their design firm, the RBA Group, will be attending the Thursday, April 28th Broad Channel Civic Association meeting later this month in order to discuss their plans for flood mitigation in Broad Channel.
The RBA Group, along with the DDC will give a presentation of where they are to date on the design plan for 12th ,and subsequently 11th and 13th roads, and, will then have have work stations set up in the back of the room to allow for them to meet each resident from West 12th road, on a one on one basis, to show each 12th Road homeowner how the elevated street would effect their individual properities.
It is imprtant that each resident of West 12th Road attend this meeting so as to ensure each homeowner has an individual explanation of this project's impact on their property and an opportunity to comment.
