John C. Spataro - Justice of the Supreme Court Queens County

John C. Spataro is a lifelong resident of Queens County. He received his J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1997 and admitted to the New York Bar the following year. In 2013, he was admitted to the United States District Court, Southern District. He has been an insurance defense litigator for over 20 years, with a majority of that time working for a major insurance carrier. His current practice includes construction and general liability cases, and previously included municipal, corporate and personal litigation, as well as toxic tort and reinsurance litigation.

Our friend and neighbor, John Spatoro, has announced himself  a candidate for judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. John will be on the ballot in the general election on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
I have known John and his family for almost two decades now and have worked closely with with him addressing several important issues, most notably our community's ill fated fight with the Brooklyn Archdiocese in an attempt to keep the doors of our small St. Virgilius Parish School open. He, along with others, worked tirelessly for hundreds of hours to create a viable business plan providing the St. Virgilius Parish School with a one year reprieve through June 2006 when it the Brooklyn Archdiocese finally closed it's doors forever.
Keep in mind that Judges have a unique role in the American democratic system as the unbiased interpreters of the law and the dispensers of justice. A good judge should not only be well versed in law, but he should act fairly and impartially and render decisions that are independent and based on good faith.  Judges have extraordinary power and responsibility because they determine matters that affect the future of the parties involved in a case.
John is possessed with both the requisite judicial temperament and and innate ability to both communicate and listen. John has also established a long history of ,unquestioned ethical behavior, both in his personal and professional life.
That being said, I can state unequivocally that if elected on November 5th, John will make a great N.Y. Supreme Court Judge.
