This weekend - A total lunar eclipse of a Super Blood Moon!

"Total Lunar Eclipse" takes place when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and covers the Moon with its shadow.

A "Supermoon" simply describes a phenomenon whereby the moon appears particularly large in the sky owing to the coincidence of its closest approach to the earth (the perigee) with a full (or new) moon.

"Bloodmoon" is when the moon,  in total eclipse, appears reddish in color as it is illuminated by sunlight filtered and refracted by the earth's atmosphere.

This weekend, Sunday evening though early Monday morning, we will all have the opportunity to witness a total lunar eclipse of a Super Blood Moon!

A partial eclipse of this weekend's full Supermoon will begin at 10:34 pm Sunday evening and the moon will enter into and remain in a total eclipse from 11:41 pm through 12:44 am Monday morning and the eclipse will completely approximately 1 hour later at 1:50 am.
