TIDES WITH SOME POTENTIALLY MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING AS WELL...

...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING...

The National Weather Service in New York NY has issued a Coastal
Flood Watch, which is in effect from late tonight through Friday
morning.

* LOCATIONS...Vulnerable coastal locations along the South Shore Bays
  of NYC and Western Long Island, including the Great South Bay and
  Jamaica Bay as well as along the Atlantic Ocean beachfront.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE...2 to 3 ft above astronomical height...

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...There is potential of an elevated threat
  of property damage. Potential for widespread flooding of
  vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. Potential
  for 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level in low lying,
  vulnerable areas. This may result in numerous road closures and
  cause widespread flooding of low lying property including
  parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements
  near the waterfront. Vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near
  the waterfront will potentially become flooded. Flooding may also
  extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays.

* TIMING...Around the times of high tide Friday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings, and take action to
protect property.

Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
