...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION MAY BE POSSIBLE
LATE TONIGHT...

* LOCATIONS...Atlantic Ocean beaches of New York City and
  western Long Island.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE...2 to 3 feet above normal.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Brief minor flooding of the most
  vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.

* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Breaking waves will result in beach
  erosion with only minor damage possible to dune structures.

* RIP CURRENT RISK...High.

* TIMING...High rip current risk into this evening and then
  again on Sunday. Minor coastal flooding possible with the
  high tide cycle late tonight.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM EDT
SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory,
which is in effect from 8 PM this evening to 6 AM EDT Sunday.

* WINDS...East 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* TIMING...Tonight.

* IMPACTS...Greatest impacts will be closer to the immediate
  shorelines. Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
  lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
