Mobi-mat at Beach 10th Entrance in Far Rockaway!
In response to request made by my office the New York City Parks Department placed a mobi-mat leading from the boardwalk to the sand at Beach 10 thstreet in Far Rockaway.
Going to the beach is wonderful, getting onto the sand for some can be extremely difficult- mobi-mats help to ensure that everyone has equal access to the beach. Today was a big win for all city residents- Thank you Parks Department!

$400 Million in Upgrades for Jamaica Bay
So excited to stand with DEP Commissioner Vincent Sapienza, and my colleagues in government, in announcing a $400 million dollar improvement plan for Jamaica Bay. Few parts of the country know how important taking care of the Earth is as well as we do. There’s a balance, a true relationship, between the people of Jamaica Bay and the Bay itself. Investing in this ecological jewel, will not only show off the natural beauty of our water and its ecosystem, but will create the next generation of environmentalists to preserve and protect it. Thanks to everyone who’s been working so hard to protect our bay!

Patriotism in Breezy Point
True American spirit is always on display in Breezy Point! It was my honor to attend the reading of The Declaration of Independence and The Gettysburg Address on the Fourth of July.
Happy Birthday America - and thanks to the 23rd Assembly District, the heart of patriotism in New York City!

Free summer meals for ALL KIDS! (Yes, really!)
More than 500,000 children in NYC don't have enough to eat. When school lets out, students lose access to free school meals, which puts an even bigger strain on their families.
But in partnership with Hunger Free America, did you know that NYC gives FREE SUMMER MEALS (breakfast and lunch) at least five days a week - and in some locations seven days - to any child? You don't need proof of income, ID, or any paperwork - just to be a child under the age of 18!
