Dear Neighbor,
After many late nights and more than a few (dozen) cups of coffee, the State Budget is still under construction. Just this week I voted to pass a two-month extension of the current FY budget, so that vital services are not shut down.
We'll be working day in and day out to make sure we come up with a compromise that's fair, transparent and fully funds our vital services.
As always, you can get daily updates by following me on Facebook and Twitter.
Wishing you and yours a Happy Passover and Easter,
First Freshman to pass a bill, to help our vets!

I became the first Freshman Assemblyperson of 2017 to pass legislation, as the New York State Assembly unanimously approved A.5165, a bill to make online information more accessible to NYS Veterans.
Addabbo Health Center Women of Power Event

The Joseph P. Addabbo Health Center hosted a Women of Power Event as part of their Women’s HERstory Month celebration. I spoke about the crucial role of women in government, and about how women’s issues so often play out tangibly in my life as a legislator and as a mother.

How do you get rid of unwanted electronics?

E-waste! I will be sponsoring a second recycling event in Far Rockaway, after the great success of our first at Rockwood JCC. Accepted items include working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, cellphones and PDAs. Check it out this Sunday!
With the Army Corps of Engineers, we got an 80-Foot beam removed from the water behind Bungalow Bar

The US Army Corps of Engineers towed an 80-foot beam that had become lodged in the shoreline back out to sea. The beam had gotten partially attached to the a landing near the Bungalow Bar for well over a month.
