THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EST THIS
EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 8 INCHES...HIGHEST IN
  SOUTHERN QUEENS INCLUDING THE ROCKAWAYS.

* LOCATIONS...BROOKLYN AND QUEENS.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* TIMING...HEAVY AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON, THEN TAPERING OFF EARLY
  THIS EVENING.

* WINDS...NORTH 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER 20S.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DUE TO SNOW COVERED ROADS AND
  REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
